Argument Leads To Arrest, Assault Charge For Westchester Man, Police Say

A man is in police custody after a friend was hospitalized when a verbal argument that turned physical in Northern Westchester.

Westchester County Police officers responded to the 200 block of Main Street in Mount Kisco at approximately 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 20, where there was a report of an assault involving two men.

Police said that during an argument, Yonkers resident Uzzol Islam, 40, struck an acquaintance in the head during an argument, sending his victim to Northern Westchester Hospital Center for treatment.

Islam proceeded to flee the scene, but surrendered himself into police custody the following day at Westchester County Police Headquarters in Hawthorne. Islam was arrested and charged with a felony count of assault. Following his arraignment in Mount Kisco Justice Court, Islam was released. No return court date has been announced.
